New TTS Competence Center inaugurated
The TTS Group is celebrating the completion of new office and production space in Illertissen
The TTS Group's new competence center is ready for occupancy. On schedule right up to the end, the modern production and office buildings were officially inaugurated on November 15, 2024 in the presence of employees, management and family owners.
With an investment sum of 24 million euros, the extensive expansion of the existing plant in Illertissen underlines the TTS Group's commitment to Germany as a location. The ultra-modern premises now benefit the local subsidiaries: TTS Cleantec, which develops and produces state-of-the-art extraction devices for the Festool group brand, and TANOS, the manufacturer of the renowned systainer® tool case and transport system.
After a year and a half of construction, the extensive expansion of the southern German TTS competence center for extraction technology and workplace organization was officially inaugurated on November 15, 2024. The top management of the internationally operating power tool group gathered in Illertissen, Bavaria, for the inauguration ceremony. In addition to the TTS supervisory board chairwoman and representative of the shareholder family Barbara Austel, the TTS board chairwoman Sascha Menges was also present. Jürgen Eisen, First Mayor of Illertissen, was one of the guests of honor. In addition, deserving alumni, neighboring entrepreneurs and, last but not least, all TTS Cleantec and TANOS employees based at the location were invited. Barbara Austel knew how to classify the festive occasion accordingly: “We believe in this location and Germany as a location, even if the market conditions and the environment are becoming increasingly challenging. With the new space, we have created a place for our employees where productivity and creativity go hand in hand.”
Precision landing for completion and move
Almost a year and a half after breaking ground in July 2023, the large-scale TTS construction project is completed completely on schedule and on budget - despite organizational challenges. The new production hall had to be connected to the existing building during ongoing operations - including laying cables and creating new passages. Since the new hall is purely an assembly plant, the existing area was converted into a fully functional logistics hall within a few weeks. The move of the first assembly lines also began early in September to ensure smooth and continuous operation. The office building was moved into and the canteen was put into operation on time in November.
TTS Group on course for growth
With 7,800 and 2,840 square meters respectively, the production hall and the new office building offer plenty of space for growth, as Ulrich Brunner, Managing Director of TTS Cleantec, emphasized at the inauguration ceremony: “We are given space and space to be able to grow further.” Other subsidiaries also benefit from this the TTS group. The intelligent assistance systems from the Hamburg exoskeleton specialist exoIQ are assembled on site in Illertissen; At the same time, TTS Cleantec provides development and production capacities for the core brand Festool and the systainer® manufacturer TANOS. Its managing director Klaus-Martin Berstecher therefore also emphasizes the importance of the multi-brand strategy for the southern German location: “With the new competence center, we have created synergies and further developed the location. This means our customers can rely in good conscience on receiving top products of the highest, sustainable quality today and tomorrow.”
