Sustainability

Our vision

Environmental policy is an important part of sustainability management at TANOS. For us, sustainability means offering future generations the same opportunities as the current one. In view of the current global megatrends, we are convinced that there are three main environmental impacts that are relevant to us:

Climate protection

In the context of global climate change, we see it as our duty to make a contribution to combating climate change. We achieve this by reducing relative CO₂ emissions.

Saving resources

Since global resources are limited, it is essential to conserve and preserve them to maintain equal opportunities for future generations. We achieve this by reducing relative material consumption.

Health preservation

For the long-term preservation of our users' health, we see it as our responsibility to reduce emissions and avoid the use of harmful substances.

The interior is also sustainable.

Inside the Systainer³, a precisely fitting insert program ensures even more protection and organization. Upon request, PE foams and thermoformed parts with at least 30% recycled content are also available. Eco-materials with even higher recycled content, up to 100% Bio-PE made from non-GMO sugarcane, can be realized if needed. The quality characteristics are, of course, comparable to the standard materials.

Recycling Information of Packaging

Packaging is also made up of important materials that can be recirculated in the resource cycle if they are separated and recycled accordingly.

Individual packaging materials can be distinguished from each other using the alphanumeric coding in accordance with Commission Decision 97/129/EC. Refer to your local regulations for separating your recycling.

The materials most commonly used in TANOS packaging briefly explained:

Packaging marked with code 20 to 22 should generally be disposed of with waste paper. This includes the cardboard packaging and blister cards that come with newly purchased TANOS products.

Packaging material with the code 01 to 07 are forms of plastic packaging, such as blisters, films, bags and polystyrene inserts. In many countries and municipalities, users can put this type of packaging in the yellow bag or bin.

It is important to separate the individual packaging materials before disposing of them. For example, users should remove the blister card from the blister and dispose of the individual materials in the relevant systems.

REACH/ ROHS

Information on Critical Substances

The REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 is the European Chemical Regulation for the registration, evaluation, authorization, and restriction of chemical substances.

All substances (SVHC = Substances of Very High Concern) on the Candidate List are subject to disclosure requirements according to § 33. The SVHC Candidate List, published by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), is regularly updated and can be found at: https://echa.europa.eu/de/candidate-list-table.

As a manufacturer of products, we are required to disclose substances from the Candidate List that are present in our products in concentrations greater than 0.1% by weight and to comply with substance bans.

We naturally comply with this requirement. Additionally, we regularly inform our suppliers about REACH. They are obligated to fulfill their registration and information duties, in accordance with our environmental standards.

We also verify the compliance of our products by systematically selecting samples for analysis in a specialized laboratory.

In accordance with our information obligation under §33, all products with known SVHC content exceeding 0.1% by weight are available for review in the following list. This list is regularly updated. Our goal is to substitute the listed substances as quickly as possible. We work closely with our suppliers in this effort.
